Conducting Internal Investigations | Presented by Justin Terch

This presentation is designed to teach HR professionals how to conduct thorough, professional investigations of internal matters that meet legal and ethical requirements. Attendees will learn how to select an investigator, tips on managing interviews, assessing credibility, and making final adjudication decisions. Report writing and handling common legal and ethical concerns will also be addressed.

Justin L. Terch MA, MBA, SPHR is the Managing Partner of Terch & Associates Consulting LLC, a leading provider of workplace solutions in Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. His practice includes internal investigations, executive search, and employment law compliance. He is currently the State Director-Elect of the Minnesota State Council of SHRM.

Justin led HR for numerous organizations in industrial construction, healthcare, and public education. For ten years Justin served as Senior Lecturer in the Legal Studies and Business Departments at UW-Superior and is a regular speaker at professional conferences.

Justin is licensed as a professional investigator by the Minnesota Board of Private Detectives and Protective Agents and the Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional Services.
